This role has solution and operational accountability for both PGS Division and Pfizer Enterprise solutions. The solutions are mission critical to manufacture, test, store and release Pfizer's products to the market and manage Pfizer's Enterprise Audit and EHS processes. Pfizer's primary control mechanism to meet countries' laws and regulations are met, in part, through the solutions provided. Major regulated programs include:
AMS - Audit management supporting (PGS, Corporate, R&D, Medical and F&BO organizations)
EHS - Occupational health and hygiene reporting and Environmental reporting at all Pfizer locations globally
EAMS - Calibration and asset management (PGS and Corporate locations)
gLIMS - Laboratory Information Management System
gQTS - Quality management
The selected candidate will partner with multiple senior executives to develop and drive solution strategy, life cycle management and portfolio investment to achieve the best value for PGS and Pfizer. The solutions are highly complex and very innovative while also leveraging novel / emerging technologies. The financial accountability of the role is significant and exceeds $100M annually. Hence the selected candidate must have the ability to present complex solutions to multiple levels of the organization, and have the business acumen to integrate across disciplines and interpret industry trends when developing strategy for large programs. The role is also responsible for a global organization currently in 15 countries and in excess of 100 people. Therefore, the selected candidate must have superior organizational design, development and management skills establishing a culture of compliance and quality while balancing appropriate risk taking and continuous improvement activities. The candidate must also have exceptional external skills in vendor management as the role engages in multi-million dollar contracts with a variety of vendors and technology platforms.
Accountable to drive all Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) activities in support of business needs across the portfolio of solutions (current portfolio > 500 applications) including solution retirement when appropriate and in the best interest of Pfizer
Understands business processes and proactively presents technology solutions to advance business strategies through the optimization of existing strategic enterprise system capabilities and/or the addition of new capabilities that drive significant value for PGS and Pfizer
Lead leaders across a global department:
Identifying (internal and external) talent
Develop succession plans addressing talent gaps and
Hold leaders accountable to deliver on business needs
Accountable for overall resourcing (people, technology and financial) for highly complex global programs and emerging technologies involving significant risk and business opportunity
In collaboration with the business clients, identifies, influences and prioritizes project portfolio and business cases for IT investments of approximately $100M value annually; Resolves prioritization conflicts with senior executives as needed
Manage multiple global vendor relationships with contracts in excess of $1M annually
Sets skill requirements and influence resourcing decisions for team and business partners to assure long term success of the solutions and the department
Develops communities of practice and common interest groups for business process/technology systems to share and develop knowledge while driving continuous improvement
Education: BA or BS in preferred disciplines: Information Technology, Manufacturing or Engineering. MBA and/or MS strongly preferred.
Specific Quality and Laboratory systems experience required
Broad domain expertise across multiple business functions required
Manufacturing BT experience required
Experience with large scale / complex programs required
15+ years progressive experience successfully leading global organizations.
