Stantecs Advanced Flow Modeling (AFM) team is applying state-of-the-art Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modeling to solve real engineering problems and develop engineering designs related to sustainable water, wastewater, and buildings engineering.

Your Opportunity

Stantec is looking for a Senior CFD engineer to join its AFM group in Lynnwood, WA. The successful individual will provide advanced flow modeling services for the water sector and other sectors such as Power, Industrial Buildings, Water and Transportation, Mining, etc.

Your Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be a key player in this group and will be responsible for providing technical leadership, executing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) projects, including solid modeling, meshing, model setup, result post-processing, and report writing.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • At least five years of working experience with ANSYS FLUENT, including Gambit, SpaceClaim, and/or Design Modeler, Ansys Mesher.

  • Working knowledge of CFD post-processing software, such as FieldView and Tecplot

  • Working knowledge of a CAD package for solid modeling, such as Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Mechanical Desktop, etc.

  • At least five years of working experience in solving flow problems both water and air -- using CFD modeling for practical engineering applications

  • Working experience with Flow-3D is a plus.

  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to Lynnwood, WA

  • Education and Experience

    A Master of Science or Master of Engineering degree or a Ph.D. degree in hydraulic or mechanical engineering, with emphasis in CFD, hydraulics, or fluid mechanics

    Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
