Mitel is looking for an experienced Director Direct Sales for our Northeast Region. The ideal candidate may be located in NY, Boston or Philadelphia preferred.
* Accountability for delivering current Fiscal year's sales target and operational objectives, and providing input towards the following year's sales forecasts and quotas. * Sets Sales strategy and sells successfully into mid-market SMB territories. * Position has responsibility for selecting and developing their team. * Works with employees to plan, assign, and monitor individual objectives of team members, based on overall group objectives and priorities. * Defines requirements, plans, schedules resources effectively, and removes barriers to the group's success. * Manages the schedule of deliverables assigned to the group. * Provides guidance and advice to group members relating to their approach and methodology in pursuing their assigned responsibilities. * Responsible for providing timely and useful feedback to staff members on their performance and development plan. * Accountability for team's weekly/monthly/quarterly revenue forecast, segment trends, and segment initiative planning. * Participates in the group's work by overseeing and advising others, and by contributing directly to key customer relationships and the success of complex negotiations. * Gets involved with strategic issues on a regular basis, new channel recruitment, Customer satisfaction assurance. * Makes decisions balancing the group's short-term objectives with the long-term business direction and strategy; exercises initiative and judgment in determining how to achieve the group's objectives. * Decisions are trusted as sound, and have a major impact on the territory's success, and a moderate impact on the company overall. * Works closely with Field and Corporate Marketing setting marketing plans and managing them to success
* Post-secondary degree in Business/Technology with 10+ years of experience in a sales management role, in a high-tech environment, or equivalent preferred * Demonstrated experience in managing multi-faceted, complex sales teams. Knowledge of channels and experience working with Channel Partners, POS fulfillment and Distribution - highly desirable * Superlative expertise in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel - mandatory. * Sales Force expertise required * Very solid forecasting philosophy, track record, and skill - mandatory * Demonstrable track record and ability to drive activities and achieve superlative revenue results and margin contribution - mandatory * Excellent customer service and outstanding communication/presentation skills - mandatory
