General Description:

The person in this position is responsible for maintaining all stone, marble, and tile flooring and paving throughout the museum and plaza, as well as repairs and maintenance of vinyl flooring, carpeting, cove base, cinder block and stone walls, in addition to various shop duties including, but not limited to, transporting materials and supplies and supporting other shops as needed.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Maintain the historic limestone fa ade, building interior, and outdoor plaza

Perform regular rounds of the entire museum (front and back of house) and make necessary repairs including patching and repairing of any penetrations in the building envelope

Emergency trip hazard repairs throughout the museum on a variety of flooring surfaces

Maintain and organize shop and all shop equipment

Repair vinyl flooring, carpeting, ceramic tiles, and cove base throughout the museum

Maintain and organize attic stock

Other general maintenance duties as required, as well as support for special exhibitions work

Requirements and Qualifications:

Experience and Skills:

Five to seven years of masonry maintenance experience

Knowledge of pointing, brick laying, and stone repair

Knowledge of vinyl flooring, carpeting, and ceramic tile work

Knowledge and Education:

High School graduate or equivalency
