Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED-RN) at Riddle Hospital:
Riddle's ED has 26 beds and an internal disposition area that is used as an Observation/Results Pending area. This has recliners and flat-screen TVs to keep patients comfortable while they wait. The ER is newer, has a nice flow, and does not allow for hallway beds. RNs are trained in acute, fast-track, and eventually triage. Our ED Techs have greater skills to support nursing,
The ED is a fast-paced environment where you learn something new every day. From seeing patients of all ages and populations (from pediatric to geriatric) this is the chance to learn new nursing skills in a high energy teamwork environment. The ED physician group is great to work with and collaborates with the nursing staff to provide the best quality care for our patients every day. Riddle is both stroke and STEMI certified and recently helped partner with our stroke team to earn the Stroke Gold Plus award (highest honor). There is a strong SANE program here. Our ED team is proud of our quick DTN (door-to-needle) and DTB (door-to-balloon) times for our stoke and cardiac patients.
If you are a nurse looking to transition into Emergency Nursing and have at least 3 years of experience in critical care, telemetry you may be able to qualify.
As an ER nurse you enjoy the fast-paced work environment with a strong ability to multi-task. Have excellent communication skills and a team player.
The primary team you will work with in the ED?
Physicians, Nurses, ED Techs, Unit Secretary, Charge RNs, Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator. Respiratory, X-ray, CT Scan, Ultrasound, Inpatient Units and EMS.
Education: Graduation from a school of professional nursing. Diploma, Associate Degree, or BSN Degree. BSN Degree preferred.
Licensures & Certifications: A current PA RN license. ACLS/PALS/NRP for Non-Nurse Residents: If required for job (unless you don't have that specialty experience), certification must be current on start date Healthcare Provider Current CPR is required on hire. Certification in specialty area desired.
Experience: Prior staff nurse experience preferred. ED experience preferred. Ability to communicate proficiently in English to perform job duties.
