Four Happy Men hospitality is looking for a sharp, driven & organized Sous Chef to join our Brooklyn-based family, and who will help with our existing location, Loosie s Kitchen, and two new ventures in South Williamsburg. The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in NYC, with a strong desire to grow with the company. Most importantly, we re looking for an individual we enjoy spending time with.


Loosie s Kitchen is a restaurant in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn that celebrates diverse roots of contemporary American cooking. For brunch & dinner, Chef Henry throws down seasonal goodness inspired by his personal Asian-American roots, as well as diverse new American home cooking traditions.

Candidates should have solid skills, sharp knives, a highly developed sense of urgency, and be able to work well under pressure. A culinary degree is preferred but not required. Candidates need to be team-oriented, have a willingness to contribute with a flexible and positive attitude and a desire to create the best guest experience.

Job Duties Include:

  • Supervise activities of all back of house staff members including receiving, storing, prepping and cooking to ensure consistent, safe, and productive work.
  • Assist Executive Chef in developing new menu concepts; developing testing, and costing out new menu items
  • Oversee methods of preparation, portion sizes, and timeliness of food preparation; control food and usage to minimize waste
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with the bar and restaurant
  • Plan, assign and coordinate work for Line Cooks
  • Participate in preparing food items on the line for service
  • Assist in processing invoices, updating daily inventories, and other administrative tasks
  • Assist in daily ordering and oversee inventory while working within an assigned budget
  • Oversee and assist in kitchen cleanliness and adherence to Department of Health regulations
    Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with the bar and restaurant
  • Collaborate, elevate and exceed our guest & employee experiences
