Seeking candidates to fill the position of Systems Engineer in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) Code 516 Machinery Control Systems (DDG 1000, LSD, MCM) & Advanced Damage Control Systems Branch in Philadelphia, PA.
Manage requirements for machinery and damage control systems. Trace requirements through the system development lifecycle. Support Quality Assurance Audits for requirements management activities.
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology from an ABET accredited program.
8+ years of experience:
1+ years of professional experience within industry as a systems, electrical, and/or electronics engineer. 1+ years of professional experience troubleshooting hardware/software systems. 1+ year professional experience writing requirements for software or control system development. 3+ year experience managing requirements through system development lifecycle. 1+ year experience with Requirements Management Database Tools DOORS, R4J or similar. 1+ year experience performing verification and validation of system requirements. 1+ year experience with CMMI
Experience with JIRA and R4J (Atlassian). Experience with development involving RSLogix or Java programming. Experience with industrial control system development or software development processes. Knowledge of the US Navy System Engineering Process (SEP).
Skills and Abilities:
Managing requirements throughout the system development lifecycle. Providing traceability of requirements through development lifecycle. Willingness to learn and implement new requirements management software (R4J) and convert existing traceability matrices from spreadsheets to R4J
Successful applicants must be able to obtain a government secret security clearanceThe work is typically performed in an office/lab environment and shipboard on US Navy vessels, which requires proper safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of materials, boxes or equipment. Work may require up to 25% travel.
