Network Engineer



GDH Consulting is seeking candidates for a Network Engineer position located in New York City. This is an onsite position.


Required Skills


Minimum: at least 1 CCIE certification with Lab, added bonus ACI experience.


Superior level knowledge in one of the following and strong knowledge in all other areas of: IP internetworking, LAN Switching, QOS, IP Routing protocols (IGRP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), Core Routing (MPLS), Wireless, IP Routing protocols (IGRP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).


Superior level internetworking troubleshooting in a medium / large-scale network environment.


Trained and capable of independently delivering network service support. Directly involve in installation, Configuration and Integration of Network Projects. Consultants to go through structured training program to achieve next level of expertise and career advancement.


Knowledgeable of Advanced Services type model deliverables and expectations.


Undertake support as designated Advanced Services Consultant for a small to medium-scale network.


Network design skills.


Ability to leverage technical expertise of others.


Leading edge technology design skills.


Knowledge of network management, network availability & capacity plan


Undertake support as designated Advanced Services engineer for medium/large-scale networks. Must possess good technical account management skills.


Medium/Large-scale network design skills.


Superior knowledge of network management, network availability & capacity planning.


Good/Superior Consulting and communication skills


Perform analysis and diagnosis of highly complex networking problems.


Build simulated networks in test labs to resolve highly complex problems and compatibility issues.


Introduce new ways of working


Demonstration of Cisco products and solutions to customers.


Ability to sell / present to customers the value of Advanced Services


Collaborate proactively with other Network Engineer's to ensure optimal use of resources to meet customer needs.


Contribute to customers knowledge through the delivery of Knowledge Transfer Sessions


Common Responsibilities


Successfully manage customer relationships


Support delivery of service program to major customers.


Perform analysis of complex network designs.


Build simulated networks in test labs to resolve complex problems and compatibility issues.


Conform to service delivery of Advanced Services standards.


Support delivery of service program to Cisco customers.


Perform analysis of complex network designs.


Question ways of working and suggests improvements.


Provide remote or onsite deployment support.


Perform analysis and diagnosis of complex networking problems.


Generate reusable Intellectual Capital in the form of standard customer deliverables.


May perform customer facing presentations - QBR, Training, TOI.


May collaborate proactively with other NCE's to ensure optimal use of resources to meet customer needs


Generate reusable Intellectual Capital in the form of standard customer deliverables.


Project Consultant role


Generate standard project documentation including detailed test plan for complex networks.


Generate, build and execute technical and complex test plans and topology in CPOC environments


Generate network configurations from Low Level Design for complex networks.


Execute all phases of project delivery including network staging, implementation and handover.


Plan and execute complex Network Upgrade and Network Migration activity.


Review Implementation Plans.


Facilitate design workshop.


Document or reviews network requirements and High Level Design.


Document or reviews Low Level Design.


Review Implementation Plans.


Troubleshoot and resolves complex customer network problems across a broad range of technologies.


Assure that major customer network problems across a broad range of technologies are properly and quickly resolved.


Act as a focal point for all network problem resolution


Experience


Typically requires BS, CS or equivalent plus 8-12 years Cisco Network implementation, Network support, pre-sales support, hands on installation in the LAN /WAN network deployment.


Accountability


Ensures commitments and deliverables are met. Recommends and initiates projects to benefit customer and Advanced Services objectives.


Interface & Communication


Interface and work closely with others in a team environment to achieve common goals.


Provide technical guidance to customers, TAC, & Advanced Services. Work to resolve customer problems.


Ability to make internal & external presentations


Problem Solving


Solve moderate to highly complex, cross-functional issues. Excellent analytical skills for solving technical issues.
