This key Operations position is responsible for the planning and directing the activities of the North America logistic team. This role oversees the safety, planning, execution, and compliance of the import, export, and within region movement and storage of materials. This position is responsible for the annual movements of over $1B of finished goods sales to customers.

Responsibilities

* Implementation of NA Logistics strategy to drive excellence
* Provide direction and leadership to the logistic team to ensure domestic and export customer shipments are executed per the supply plan
* Participation on the FMC Corporate Import and Export Compliance Committee. Ensures NA compliance with C-TPAT, export controls, and FMC regulatory requirements for logistics
* Manage North America Duty drawback program and delivers results
* Manage network of external warehouses to ensure compliance with FMC EHS policies and Responsible Care initiative and to meet customer order fulfillment targets
* Support corporate duty/tariff management strategy and works with Government Affairs and Legal to deliver Section 301 Tariffs/Miscellaneous Tariff Bill (MTB) fillings to mitigate tariff impacts to earnings
* Lead efforts to resolve logistics issues and challenges resulting from supply interruption or demand changes
* Partners with global logistics teams to align practices, drive improvements, and prevent issues
* Maintains full understanding of regulatory environment for movement and warehousing of hazardous products
* Manages performance metrics on delivery performance and logistic costs
* Support new product introductions and develop logistic strategy to meet business objectives
* Manage the relationship with external transportation partners to ensure optimal service performance, alignment on business goals, and effective communications
* Works closely with and supports Global Procurement initiatives and contract negotiations
* Champions the implementation of standardized processes, technology and improvement initiatives within the logistic team.
* Develops and nurtures team members to their full potential, builds talent capabilities that are sustainable and adequate for the future growth at FMC.

Required Education

* Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, logistics or related field.

Qualifications

* 10+ years experience in logistics management, supply network optimization, transportation operation and distribution methods, import/export regulations in the chemical industry involving hazardous materials.
* In depth knowledge of logistic compliance requirements (e.g. customs, DOT, IATA, C-TPAT, and Responsible Care) both domestically and internationally
* Demonstrated strong personnel management skills resulting in high-performing teams
* Experience with working with people from different cultures and backgrounds
* Established networking capability to develop productive internal and external collaborations
* Strong track record of synthesizing complex information from diverse sources into understandable, clear, effective communication to diverse audience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
* Analytical, demonstrate business and financial acumen necessary to interpret findings and make the right business decisions
* Proven track record for reducing and containing logistics and distribution costs
* Experience in working with third party logistics service providers
* Experience with SAP and logistics network optimization tools
* Able to travel domestically up to 15-20%
