Sr Payroll Specialist

The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of payroll processing for all Evonik Corporation companies. Incumbent is responsible to promote and maintain the principles of and responsibilities related to Responsible Care within his/her assigned areas of responsibility

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support and process payroll for various multiple legal entities with various pay cycles in the United States

Partner with HR and Payroll colleagues to provide quality customer service

Administer payrolls in accordance with company policies, union contracts, and legal requirements

Ensure payroll data is input accurately, complete and timely

Support and ensure accurate and timely reporting of expatriate requirements

Reconcile payrolls both prior to and following processing. Coordinate payroll processing with HR colleagues in varied business units nationwide. Administer garnishments, run reports in ADPR and G/L application and distribute as necessary, ensure timely payment/funding of union dues and United Way

Prepare and reconcile data for 401k funding

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of payroll to the General Ledger. Partner with Finance colleagues to resolve any General Ledger issues

Ensure timely and accurate updating of payroll records for relocation gross-ups, gift cards/awards, stock, company auto personal usage and exec gross-ups for auto and life insurance

Completion of annual Expatriate W-2 reconciliations for tax service providers

Review and distribute ADP funding notices (for net payroll and payroll taxes) to the various businesses accounting departments

Continually look for ways to reduce expenses, and streamline processes

Support Payroll Manager in daily tasks/duties

REQUIREMENTS

Must have in-depth knowledge of and familiarity with ADP Payroll software (Enterprise Version 5, ADPR, ADPGL) , Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (Vlookup, pivot tables a must.).

Education :

  • Requires a minimum of 2 years of college accounting or Finance and/or Payroll Certification (FPC, CPP)
  • Experience :

  • Requires a minimum of 3 years payroll experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience with expatriate payroll processing preferred.
  • Must have the ability to collect, analyze and interpret data.
