In this role you will be responsible for:The Per Diem Therapeutic Recreation Aide implements diversional therapeutic recreation programs for individual and group service for patients and their familiesThe Per Diem Therapeutic Recreation Aide helps prepare patients and the environment for treatment and assists the therapist in performing treatment under his/her directionThis position generally requires providing service to AD, A, O, F age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual servedIf you possess the following qualifications, please apply immediately:High School diploma or equivalent requiredCPR certification requiredEnrolled in Bachelor's Degree Program in Therapeutic Recreation or an Associate's Degree in related field strongly preferredTwo years experience in activity leadership with individuals who are physically disabled or equivalent preferredPhysical Demands:Heavy work, requires active sitting, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, walking, agility (bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, kneeling, turning), dexterity (handling, fingering, reaching), and handling of patients and equipment. Occasional very heavy workContinuous near vision, depth perception, full field of vision, color vision, occasional exposure to VDT's (video display terminal)Ability to hear normal conversation (some with reduced volume/clarity), occasional telephone communication
