This is a state approved apprenticeship position. Works mostly under the direction of an assigned mentor. The role provides opportunity to learn and master maintenance repair, troubleshooting and support for the company's three-story food manufacturing facility and cannery located in Milton, PA. The role is responsible for work order completion of planned projects as well as breakdown, failure, and repairs. This position is to perform and assist with basic maintenance, service, troubleshooting, repairs, welding and plumbing, as well as assisting specialists with the repair, maintenance, rebuilding and installation of equipment and machinery in the facility. Within each area established by the training committee, the candidate will need to prove that they can work on equipment and perform all duties associated with that area. The progress of the apprentice will be monitored by the training committee to assist in the employee's successful achievement of the Apprenticeship. At the completion of the B-Maintenance, apprentice training program, the candidate will be required to bid on any open Class A maintenance position within the plant.
* Apprentice must attend training in all related safety programs. * Must participate in and comply with all Safety, Good Manufacturing, and good housekeeping practices * Repair and preventative maintenance on food manufacturing equipment * Repair and preventative maintenance of non-production machinery and support equipment * Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis of failures regarding machinery, defects with equipment, and systems * Assembles, installs, repairs, and tests equipment, wiring, fixtures, PLC controlled equipment, and air, gas, steam, water, and waste disposal systems * Complete repairs to keep the machines at top efficiency utilizing BDE and other predictive breakdown techniques. * Assist in making repairs to high and low-pressure boilers systems * Must use SAP to track work order, completion of work, parts and materials used and time spent on each job * Other duties as assigned
* Associate or higher degree pertaining to the maintenance field, such as mechatronics * Must be available for all shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) as they rotate through the on the job training
* Apprentice will be in B maintenance apprenticeship training program for approximately 3 years. The timeframe depends on how quickly candidate progresses through training. * The apprentice will be required to train in all areas established by the training committee. Some examples are the 3rd floor, 2nd floor canning, 2nd floor microwave, cooker room, 1st floor microwave and 1st floor label lines. * Within each area established by the committee the apprentice will need to prove that they can work on equipment and perform all duties associated with that area. * The apprentice must attend any scheduled outside training in areas relating to the position.
In order for a candidate to be successful in this environment, a candidate should be able to meet and perform the responsibilities as described above with or without physical accommodation. Must be able to tolerate and work in temperatures of less than 35 degrees and in excess of 100 degrees
