The Software Automation QA Engineer will be primarily responsible for testing, validating, coordinating user acceptance and approving software packages that will be used in the Client's EUC environment. These packages will be used on Windows 10 and Windows 7 operating systems unless it is indicated specific to a version. The QA engineer should be proficient in Windows 7, Windows 10 in a locked down environment, registry, file system, active directory process. Functional knowledge is required on tools like sysinternals, flexera adminstudio, app-V, appsense, winbatch studio, VMWare, desktop applications like office, webex, java etc . The breakdown of high level activities but not limited to, are as indicated.

QA testing:

  • Perform overview of package contents as per Client standards
  • Check package for unnecessary or harmful content
  • Ensure install/uninstall occurs without issue
  • Perform App-V specific checks on virtual packages
  • Ensure that application launches without issue
  • Use AppSense Application Manager to capture/review processes being blocked, coordinate with different teams if needed to diagnose root cause of the issue

UAT testing:

  • Contact users to coordinate UAT testing of application functionality
  • Provide the package to the user to validate
  • Follow up with packaging team for any issues identified for resolution
  • Send notification once the package is available in production

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of QA Testing Experience
  • Java Experience
  • Knowledge App-V, Appsense, winbatch studio
