Program Overview

The Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) immerses students into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast's top innovators. Designed for students whose curriculum allows for a cooperative learning track, the co-op becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. Throughout the experience, there is opportunity for exposure to mentorship and professional development while having some fun along the way.

Role Overview

The State Audit Intern provides day-to-day assistance to the State Tax Audit Function. The position responsibilities include retrieval and review of tax workpapers, reconciliation of supporting data, preparation of audit workpapers, and analysis of correspondence from various tax authorities. The position will require student interaction with Audit staff verbally, via e-mail and through IM. In addition, the position responsibilities will include scanning, copying and processing of workpapers and documents into our electronic filing system as well as to external parties will be required.

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the State Audit team through basic tax research, development of Excel based worksheets and retrieval & analysis of various supporting tax workpapers.

Co-op responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Retrieval and reconciliation of returns,
* Generating reports from departmental software, Oracle based accounts payable and general ledger reports
* Researching industry specific issues.

Preferred Qualifications

* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a United Statesbased college or university that has a cooperative learning track
* Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 23rd, 2019.
* Preferred Majors: Accounting, Business Administration, Business and Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business, Operations Management, Marketing
* 3.2 minimum cumulative GPA preferred
* Candidate will be familiar with the use of Microsoft products including Excel and Word.
* Candidate should be comfortable working in both an independent and team oriented setting.
* Candidate should have a basic understanding of Accounting and Tax concepts.
* Candidate should be comfortable and effective in communication.
* Willingness to learn and work in a fastpaced environment.
* Strong interest in the telecommunications, cable and media industries.
* Ability to work on a team.
* Authorized to work in the United States of America
