Coordinate all clinical research activities with minimal supervision. Assignments will include more complex studies that require a nurse's clinical expertise.
Participate and coordinate research studies in the Division of Allergy and Immunology, including food allergy and eczema. Specifically, to start, would manage a study sponsored by the National Institute of Health to study food desensitization in multi-allergic patients. This cohort of patients would be managed in collaboration with another nurse coordinator. Would facilitate and participate in the following research activities: screening, enrollment, obtaining informed consent, data and specimen collection, skin prick testing for allergens, spirometry and exhaled nitric oxide measurements, data entry and clarification, preparation of relevant data sets and/or databases. Expected to meet enrollment projections within study specified timelines and may assist in the support of study financial management.
In collaboration with allergy providers, conduct double blinded oral food challenges for study patients.
Communicate directly with Research Manager, PIs, Food Allergy Center Program Manager and divisional research team. Report regularly on status of studies under his/her direction. Function as a responsible team member and frequently interacts in a supportive and optimistic manner with physicians, nurses, patients, subjects, families, The CHOP Research Institute, and support staff in a busy environment.
Participates in direct patient care only within the scope of assigned clinical research protocols. Assist in the training, education and development of other research coordinators, research assistants, students, and volunteers, as needed.
Must be knowledgeable on, have full understanding of, and promote good clinical practices (GCP) and will be held accountable for adherence to all policies and procedures surrounding these processes and for maintaining up to date knowledge on these policies from IRB, FDA, ICH, GCP, or other sources.

RN - Registered Nurse
CPR - Certified Pulmonary Recuscitation
Required Education and Experience
Required Education: BSN
Required Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in nursing/research
Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic
Preferred Licenses/certificates/registrations: ACRP or SOCRA
Additional Technical Requirements
Clinical Research Nurse responsibilities include but are not limited to CHOP mandatories and competencies for nurses, physical assessment, vital signs, administering investigational drugs and accessing lines for labs and pharmacokinetic sampling.
