Role SummaryThe Head of Strategy & Operations for Intercontinental Markets will drive the commercial growth strategy across our markets identifying business opportunities, mitigating risks and helping to set overall direction to meet the needs of the company, healthcare professionals, payers and patients in the region. This position will partner with stakeholders across the company to lead innovative initiatives through market engagement and strategic planning and will work closely with the Head of Intercontinental Markets to develop our priorities and the calendar of events. This role is critical to our business strategy, the financial success of the region and the effectiveness of the Intercon leadership team through effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Key Role Accountabilities:Strategy & DirectionIn joint partnership with World Wide Commercialization teams and Intercontinental Markets leads this role is accountable for:Ensuring Sales and BUC results for the region are achieved.Designing innovative business models and solutions across Intercontinental Markets. Shaping products for competitive profile to achieve pricing, reimbursement, access, and accelerate penetration for favorable shareholders returns.Partnering with markets and intercom functions to find resources (headcount and/or budget) to achieve regional commercial objectives and drive allocation and prioritization of activitiesMonitoring country execution of strategy (smooth knowledge transfer of strategy including cross market learning/customer insight and execution) and roll out of initiatives linked to organizational capabilities or business pilots.Leadership & Matrix AlignmentActing as an ambassador of the Intercon region and team with its key stakeholdersContribute to relevant WW sub-teams and working teams, or lead Intercon strategic projects, as required. Driving strategic planning process in collaboration with the relevant functionsUnblocking barriers to knowledge and decision making and support navigation of complex access and pricing decision making in collaboration with the relevant stakeholdersManaging the Strat and Ops Director for the Intercon regionStakeholder Engagement & CommunicationEffectively interfacing with various Leadership teams and across BMS matrix to ensure appropriate understanding of Intercon strategic priorities, to ensure cross functional alignment and minimize company risk.Drive enterprise initiatives such as process simplification, engagement, transformation at Intercon levelRepresenting Intercon at meetings in place of leader as necessaryContributing to the Strat and Ops network in BMS Role Qualifications Master s Degree or MBA preferred. >10 years of commercial experience including US and/or international experience. Leadership experience in selecting, leading, developing, motivating and achieving results through teams ideally in a global context. Demonstrated agility to navigate and find solution in complex markets Experience of change management leading teams through market or organizational transformation Ability to provide a strong voice to the markets and to the global team and success in effectively communicating and influencing decisions with senior management and matrix team. Ability to flex across different types of cultures, work, complexities, business situations and matrix partners. Mastery in commercialization (marketing, sales and market research), launches and life cycle management processes. Understanding of regulatory policies and impact of public relations (Market or region preferred). Demonstrated ability to successfully and effectively collaborate and work across boundaries (e.g. R&D, disease mgt., marketing, external development) and building strong external relationships. Functional knowledge of Pricing & Reimbursement, Outcomes Research, Government Affairs, Corporate & Business Communications, Regulatory Affairs, Payer Management. Broad and in-depth understanding of domestic and international issues relative to the pharmaceutical industry.
