Primary Objective:

The SDP is expected to achieve quarterly and annual sales objectives for assigned region by growing Aveda market share through New Business, Product Obsession, Shine, Staffing Recruiting. The SDP will also provide Salon Consulting and Market Leader Support within their respective territory. Possesses strong sales skills including strategic planning and an entrepreneurial business approach.

Primary Responsibilities

New & Existing Business:

  • Responsible for delivering New & Existing Business goals.

  • Achieve territory quarterly shipment targets.

  • Responsible for sell-in of new product launches and ensuring strong sell-through results.

  • Spend 50% of time driving new business within the territory by identifying prospects, growing market share, supporting new salon negotiations, closing deals.

  • Maintain a weekly prospect report highlighted with current weeks activities and next steps.

  • Manage 90-day calendar, enter salon activities in advance, and log all activities and salon meeting notes weekly.

  • Ensure participation in Aveda Institute career fairs and tours, and other cosmetology school events to gain student placement.

  • Acts as liaison with Salons and Aveda Education.

Product Obsession:

  • Responsible for cultivating a strong partnership with owners/stylists to drive sales, launch penetration and education.

  • Responsible for driving sales results, while meeting launch penetration goals for new product innovation.

  • Analyze results to determine execution for goal achievement.

Hair Color:

  • Responsible for cultivating a strong partnership with Aveda Education Color Specialist and external Hair Color Educator(s) to drive hair color sales, penetration and education.

  • Drive sales results of hair color goals for territory.

  • Analyze results to determine execution for goal achievement.

Responsibilities:

Grow Aveda market share by leading with new business as #1 priority.

Grow comp business through Product Obsession focus and behaviors.

Ensure annual growth plan in place (JBP) for top accounts.

Nurture relationships and establish a growth plan for Market Leaders/ Key Accounts to ensure sustainability and loyalty to Aveda.

Serve as a consulting resource for Salons within the territory.

Drive education and host Regional events to drive results.

Promote Aveda Education, partner with Education team to execute educational programs for territory.

Ensure calendars are planned quarterly and are designed to yield the highest level of productivity.

Execute market strategies and consistency of Aveda image and standard throughout the designated region.

Qualifications

General Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience in a management position/sales or salon network.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

  • Committed to providing outstanding customer service.

  • Computer literate, business writing and communication skills.

  • Flexible to work weekends and evenings.

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to align and engage customers and network in growth strategies.

  • Ability to think strategically and create strong growth and recovery plans.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to meet the demands of the business.

  • Strong financial acumen including the ability to understand and analyze financial and sales reports.

  • Strong presentation skills including the ability to present to large audiences.

  • Travel, evening and weekend work required.
