HEADLINE : New York City: Two positions available: (1) Director of Pulmonary/Critical Care and (2) Staff Pulmonologist/Critical Care. Both physicians will work at a New York City Medical Center that is closely affiliated with a major academic/teaching hospital. The Director of Pulmonary/CC will be involved in both clinical and administrative aspects of the Department. These are both employed opportunities. $ Offering a competitive financial package. PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY : Located in the New York City area, a New York City Medical Center that is closely affiliated with a major academic medical center/teaching hospital is recruiting two Pulmonary/Critical Care physicians: A) Director for the Pulmonary/Critical Care Department B) BE/BC Pulmonary/Critical Care physician to be an attending at this hospital. Their Pulmonary/CC department currently has four Pulmonary/CC physicians. Two physicians do both Pulmonary and Critical Care. The other two physicians do Critical Care only. The new Pulmonologists/Critical Care physicians will in their Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and medical Step Down Unit (SDU). Their ICU has 12 beds and their SDU also has 12 beds. They will be able to sponsor Visa candidates. AVAILABILITY: For both Pulmonary/Critical Care positions: Pulmonary/CC who will be finishing their training during June of 2019 and June of 2020 as well as Pulmonologist/Critical Care physicians who are in practice will all be strongly considered and are all welcome to apply. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS OF CANDIDATE : For the Director of the Pulmonary/CC Department: Board Certification in both Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine are required. New York State license in good standing is required. For the Directorship opportunity, leadership/directorship experience is preferred. However, if the candidate does not have any leadership experience but wants to assume such a role, she/he is welcome to apply. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE DIRECTORSHIP POSITION: Involved in both clinical and administrative duties of the Pulmonary/Critical Care Department. Provide leadership and supervising attendings, internal medicine residents and medical students. To expand the academic development of the Pulmonary/Critical Care Department s members. To increase patient satisfaction at the hospital. To follow the guidelines of the CEO and Medical Director of the hospital. Review capital equipment needs in the Department. Properly implement quality assurance. Conduct Medical Educational meetings to improve quality care. Prepare staff schedules and strategic planning.
