AmeriCorps Great Futures provides academic support to Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia youth to help members stay on track to graduation. The AmeriCorps Member Learning Coordinator will: assist with STEM, Literacy and High-Yield Learning programs; support BGCP's mission/vision by building positive relationships with youth, fostering an academically-enriching environment, and engaging with the community. This part-time position requires 900 hours during the service year, 4 hours daily in the school year and 6 in summer, with a $200 biweekly stipend. DUTIES: Coordinate a Project Learn model component: STEM, Literacy, or High-Yield Learning - Plan/lead daily lessons/activities for youth that contribute to BGCP's culture of learning - Model positive relationships and utilize effective management strategies - Collaborate with ACMs/Club staff to create an academically-enriching environment for all youth - Gather and track data related to participation, attendance and outcomes and monitor progress towards goals - Complete program-related tasks such as upkeep of program spaces, assist with transitions, and maintain professional interactions with staff, members and families, and visitors - Establish connections with individuals/volunteers in the community and at the Club to enhance BGCP programs and Club beautification - Participate in all required training and service activities, including but not limited to Orientation, AmeriCorps citizenship training, and BGCP content-specific and youth development training - Comply with all AmeriCorps and BGCP policies regarding conduct and expectations - Comply with Mandated Reporting policies and reporting any suspected Child Abuse or Neglect following the procedures mandated by the State of Pennsylvania - Represent AmeriCorps and BGCP in a manner that conveys professionalism, confidentiality, courtesy, fairness, personal integrity, and respect - Respect confidentiality of Club members, families, staff and fellow ACMs
